Education
I graduated from Oberlin College in 2013 with a BA in history and politics and a GPA around 3.30. It was a rather good school, highly rated within the state and country. I am currently attending Kent State University for a MA in history with the goal of becoming a historian and eventually obtaining a PhD. I went to Solon High School.
Experience
Although I have never tutored in a paid environment before, I have engaged in teaching in other contexts. In college, I provided feedback for exams and homework assignments for students for an astronomy class, and I worked at Oberlin's observatory to help teach students and the public about astronomy. As a MA student, I spend considerable time helping my fellow students with their writing. Writing is an important skill for an aspiring historians, and I consider myself a strong writer with good grammar and organization skills. It has been a long time since I took the SAT or ACT, but I scored well back in high school. I also took a number of AP courses, including AP European History and AP US Government.
